Vitamin A Palmitate is also called Retinyl palmitate or Retinol Palmitate. It is a combination of retinol (pure vitamin A) and the fatty acid palmitic acid. Vitamin A Palmiate is a potent antioxidant that improves the skin’s appearance, texture and radiance. Vitamin A Palmiate is sometimes added to sunscreen products as an antioxidant that helps reduce the signs of skin aging caused by exposure to sunlight. Vitmamin A Palmiate is also used as hair conditioning agent to enhance the appearance and feel of hair.
Our diet is consist of two main forms of Vitamin A. They are Preformed vitamin A and Provitamin A carotenoids.Preformed vitamin A compounds is called retinoids. Two of the more well-known forms are retinol and vitamin A palmitate. Vitamin A Palmitate is the bioavailable type of vitamin A and the most physiologically active form in foods. Retinoids are fat-soluble and found in animal products, fortified foods and vitamin supplements. Provitamin A carotenoids are water-soluble carotenoids.They must be converted by your body into the bioavailable, active form of retinol before they can be used. Carotenoids are found in plant-based foods.

Vitamin A Palmitate is often combined with other antioxidant vitamins such as various forms of vitamins C and E.
