Diosmin
Product Introduction
Diosmin is also called Alvenor. Diosmin, a flavonoid naturally found in citrus fruit rinds, particularly oranges and lemons. Diosmin is utilized in cosmetics for soothing, sun care, post-intervention, and general care of sensitive skin. As a potent antioxidant, it combats cell deterioration caused by free radicals from contamination, ultraviolet light, or infrared.
Diosmin is considered to be the best flavonoid in terms of phlebotonic properties, capable of strengthening the capillaries, reducing their permeability and preventing their breakage. For this reason, its anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous properties are utilised cosmetically in products designed for tired legs.
Diosmin is also used as a treatment for capillary fragility, skin irritations and couperosis as well as soothing, sun care or post intervention and sensitive/ reactive skin types in cosmetic products. As with other flavonoids, Diosmin is a powerful antioxidant which neutralises cell deterioration produced by contamination generated free radicals, UV light or IR radiation which accelerate premature aging of the skin.s the application of the formulation.

Diosmin is a naturally occurring flavonoid glycoside that can be isolated from various plant sources or derived from the flavonoid hesperidin. Diosmin is considered to be a vascular-protecting agent used to treat chronic venous insufficiency, hemorrhoids, lymphedema, and varicose veins. As a flavonoid, diosmin also exhibits anti-inflammatory, free-radical scavenging, and antimutagenic properties.
The Value of Hesperidin in the Cosmetics Industry:
• Diosmin is the resistant to inflammation and hyper susceptibility.
• Diosmin is the resistant to bacterium, include epiphyte and bacteria etc.
• To be compared with other flavone plant, Diosmin has it own unique physiologic functions.
• Diosmin is the resistant to oxidation activity, includes to clear away single turn oxygen, peroxide, hydroxide radical and other free radical.
• Diosmin can prevent circulatory system to be harmed by ill, make capillary vessel more flexible, resist platelet aggregation and regulate cardiovascular.

Diosmin is a naturally occurring flavonoid glycoside that can be isolated from various plant sources. It can also be obtained after conversion of Hesperidin extracted from citrus rinds. Micronized purified flavonoid fraction (MPFF) is a preparation that contains mainly Diosmin and a small fraction of Hesperidin.
Diosmin differs molecularly from hesperidin by the presence of a double bond between two carbon atoms in diosmin's central carbon ring. Diosmin can be manufactured by extracting hesperidin from citrus rinds, followed by conversion of hesperidin to diosmin. Diosmin has been used for more than 30 years as a phlebotonic and vascular-protecting agent, and has recently begun to be investigated for other therapeutic purposes, including cancer, premenstrual syndrome, colitis, and diabetes.
