N-Ethyl-2-Pyrrolidone
N-Ethyl-2-Pyrrolidone is an important polar aprotic solvent. At room temperature, it appears as a colorless, transparent liquid with low volatility, high solubility, and excellent chemical stability. The pyrrolidone ring and ethyl group in its molecular structure make it highly polar, capable of dissolving polar substances, while also having some hydrophobic properties that allow it to mix with non-polar components.
This enables it to dissolve a wide range of substances such as resins, polymers, oils, dyes, and active ingredients in pesticides, and it can be mixed in any proportion with water and most organic solvents (such as ethanol, ether, acetone, etc.). This characteristic makes it a key auxiliary material in multiple industrial fields.
